Historical Significance meets Modern Conveniences

In the early 1980’s the former owner, Alexander C. Graham, Jr., found “Lethe” in Powhatan County in a neglected state of repair. What made Lethe such an amazing find was that not only most of the original glass was still in the windows, but also all of the original woodwork, cabinetry, hinges and brasses were still in the home. Realizing what an exceptional home this once had been, Mr. Graham purchased it and along with a team from Colonial Williamsburg, and other craftsmen drawn from throughout Virginia, reconstructed Lethe (1982 to 1985) in Goochland County. Today Lethe stands as an extraordinary showplace combining wonderful historical accuracy with all of the amenities sought by today’s lifestyle.

  4. 4. Houses show better when decorated for the holidays
  5. 5. Buyers are more emotional during the holidays
  6. 6. Some must buy before the end of the year for tax purposes
  7. 7. Buyers have more time to look for a home in person and online
  8. 8. January is traditionally a time to start a new job
  9. 9. Your house is still on the market, but you can restrict showings for family time

Spring Real Estate Market Underway!

Spring Real Estate Market is Already Underway!

The Spring Real Estate market in the Greater Richmond Metro Area normally begins the week before Easter.  This year, thanks to a very mild winter and some beautiful spring-like days in early March, we are well under way. The azalea bushes may not be blooming yet, but weekend open houses are all a buzz with the excitement and hope of a more positive mortgage climate, great loan rates, and pent-up Buyers who have just been waiting for the market to stabilize.  Our Agents have been really busy meeting with clients, and putting houses on the market. In fact, The Steele Group Sotheby’s International Realty’s Agents have listed over 60 properties since January 1st (14 of which have sold and 27 of which are currently under contract.) This doesn’t even include the Buyers who are currently working with our Agents.  Exciting, exciting times over here at The Steele Group Sotheby’s International Realty!
